I’m out and started and I called to discuss a complex situation I’m in. Tim was very condescending and rude over the phone. He charged me $100 for the initial consultation and we talked for maybe ten minutes. He was quick to get off the phone and refused to discuss future steps of how we would handle the situation beyond his initial recommendation of what he told me to do. The information he did give me was the opposite of what 6 different lawyers and agencies have told me. When I consulted with my lawyer afterward (in the state I’m in), his response was that he didn’t know why he told me those things because they aren’t true. I feel robbed. That was such a waste of money!! Don’t waste your time taking to Tim. I will never pay a lawyer for a first phone conversation again. That is now a huge red flag for me that they just want my money and don’t actually care to help me with my case.

Retained this attorney for a non-contested divorce with an agreement of $1500 retainer. Although my soon-to-be ex and I reached an out of court settlement, this attorney wanted an additional $1000 just to reach an agreement with the other attorney. Does this make sense?
