Truth Matters
The ratings and testimonials printed here are horrendous, as has my own experiences with area ‘justice’! If you are able to, never let the ‘system’ get involved in your life. There is too much corruption these days, and life TRULY is not fair. Those who think it is have money/power or are connected to those who have it. (This is especially true in small communities. )I pray that God allows all evil to be exposed and that this world can become safe for ALL children, as well as for all good people.

After 10 years of being a Drug addict CPS have finally taken my kids ( rightfully so). Thankfully my mother was able to foster my children. After I lost them I went down an even darker path (I remember telling my future husband the night that I met him that I was already dead) . Anyways after like a year of going back-and-forth to court (even going there high) I decided that I wanted to sign over my rights to my kids over to my mother because I felt like they would have been better off without me (which would’ve meant that I would’ve never been able to see them because of the restraining order that was placed). Judge Keri Savona ( hope I’m spelling that right) Told me no that I am not terminating my parental rights and that the kids are amazing and that they’re amazing because of me and all this beautiful stuff… to say that it was an Emotional experience would be an understatement. That is when I decided to turn my life around . I now have my two kids, I have been clean for almost 2 years and in a few months our case will be completely closed. Judge Savona saved my life and for the first time in my 30 years of living I can finally say ” I’m alright” . She also saved my kids from growing up without any parents .I’m not sure about the other Judges there at Ulster County Family but I can say this for all the other reviewers who said that they tear families apart , it’s just simply not true. For anyone going through the same thing I did , if you are truly doing the right thing for you and your kid/kids you’ll be fine .

This place tears families apart. They take children away for no reason and allow abuse to happen to children and the good parents who care about their children. I dealt with this place unfortunately for years and everyday was like living in hell. All of my siblings were abused, I was abused and my parents were abused while dealing with Ulster County family court. My family will never heal from this and the damage is irreversible. I’m a grown woman now and I am scarred for life from what Anthony McGinty did.

i do not understand the reasoning of any family court for any given situation. this court has on several occasions granted custody of the minor child to their grandmother and not to the petitioning father, who is more than capable of caring for the minor child. instead of granting custody of the minor child to a birth parent, they deem it necessary to grant custody to individuals who have known drug and alcohol problems. how is that fair to the child? i also find it amazing that, once custody of the minor child is transferred to a willing parent, support payments are not automatically stopped. the only reason for this that has been given is that support modifications are a different part of the family court system. this court is judged by someone who is not a judge, but a support magistrate, a lawyer. so why can’t an elected judge for the family court simply slam the gavel down and say that support is no longer needed in this case and end it right there? why must the custodial parent after gaining custody of the minor child then have to file an additional court document to have the support order changed? in addition to that why must the person, who is paying the support, then have to appear in person in the court in order to have the modification done? why, if the current custodial parent does not live with in a reasonable distance (i.e. an hour or less to the court house), not able to appear by phone? what benefit is there to the person having to be there in person? some people have to take entire days off of work to attend a court appearance that may last all of 20 minutes…if someone can please explain these questions i have posed, in a clear and concise manner, i will no longer complain about the ridiculous nature of the family court system in place here in New York state…

Don’t plan on being treated as a person but a number instead. They do not treat each case on an individual basis. They do not care how they negatively impact the lives of those who have to come before them. Sadly, they just drag the case out for months with no resolve. They do not care to see the whole picture because they really do not care about doing what is best for the the family system. They do not want to be bothered by specifics because they really do not care. It is a circus. And, how is it that a “mother” can violate a court order 3 times and have absolutely no consequences? She stood before the judge on three separate occassions and was told to follow a custody order but she refused to abide by it. And the law refused to enforce it. What is the point of an order even being in place if there are no consequences for not adhering to it? They simply do not care. Like CPS, they are worthless. Do not go in thinking that common sense will prevail because in that building there is no common sense.

Shouldn’t the name be changed to Ulster County Family Circus? What a bunch of clowns, they ALL NEED MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATIONS – anyone who would endanger child welfare belongs indefinitely behind bars. There is no excuse for the abuse of this barn -they call a court. I see here that there is not ONE good review of this place. So who pretell is holding these IDIOTS accountable for their actions?

My court is at 9am an it is now almost 10am the court is a joke ulster county period is a joke. If I could give them negative five stars I would. They need to get there stuff together an the front desk lady needs to get her head out of her ass. Rude an disrespectful I have never been talked to like that by any employee anywhere she needs to get a new job maybe McDonalds would suit her.

This court doesn’t make any sense. Has no power. Just a joke. And they actually decide your future. Super sad. Go to church and pray.
