I retained Ray Christopher Zanney in 2010 for a Juvenile court case. While my child’s dad is a multi-millionaire he had his lawyer hire evaluators specifically to demean me. One of their evaluators, Dr. Karen Bardenstein (also certified by her online reviews), who submitted a report with much unverified false information promoted dragging trial out in the case for 3 years, ensuring high fees for opposing council who had retained her. Instead of acting on this nonsense which would ultimately award lots of legal fees.. versus going to trial in a timely manner which was scheduled out about 3 months, Ray Zanney insisted we follow the opposing council’s retained expert’s recommendation ( Dr. Karen Bardenstein) dragging the case out madly approximently 3 years while demanding $1,000 a month from me, a mother who deeply loves her child would do anything for him but certainly could not afford that. Sadly, while I had an oppotunnity to have a well known “and respected” expert evaluate all parties in that duration as means to the defense against my exe’s retained expert’s reports, I was unable to proceed with the evaluation we needed because Ray Zanney would not allow me to miss a payment in order allow the evaluation for our defense as well. Most important is that I was paying Ray ultimately go to trial in the case which he absolutely did no preparation for or would allow. Further I learned that Ray falsely stated on the record to the judge that I had agreed to simply sign my child over to my ex with no trial or even shared parenting rights while lowering our child support payments too which only ensured the better standard of living my child was entitled to under Ohio law based on his dad’s wealth. I knew nothing about the hearing which Ray told the judge I agreed to such a thing as I was not invited to the hearing but was informed by an attorney I had no means to pay to “go to trial” thereafter and with no specialist expert defense on our behalf against the retained evaluators hired by my exes lawfirm. I had to fire Ray. There was no trial I had no means anymore to pay for and the result was much devastation to both my child and myself who lost our rights unjustly and more. Years later while my ex was not even following any court ordered visitation for my child and I for a very long time, my sister Heidi assisted in retaining Ray Zanney again on a low cost kind of owe a favor basis. While he did enforce the visitation that my ex was not abiding by for a short period of time (a couple months) Ray refused to provide the necessary proposed parenting plan I knew was necessary to obtain further visitation rights and “enforce” them. Though I pleaded him to do so even prepared the proposed parenting plan for him he refused to even review it demanding to me he was the lawyer and it was not necessary! While my child and I had only a temporary visitation order until the hearing, the judge put out an order that the visitation would only be in place until a hearing date and that there would be no continuences allowed. Ray knew this and did not attend the hearing date forfeiting all our visitation rights without MY knowledge. My son and I lost all of our visitation rights and I only learned that Ray had knowingly had given up all of our rights much later by not attending a hearing I had no knowledge of when I wanted to attempt to hold my ex in contempt of the visitation order for not following it again. I was in shock when I called the court to learn we had no visitation rights as a result of Ray Zanney’s failure to attend the hearing and my child had no visitation right to see his own mother because Ray did not attend the hearing. I suppose Ray may have felt he was not paid enough the second time as well to continue to attend the hearing to ensure my child and I had visitation rights as well. The result in our case was much more than devastating and ALWAYS will be.
