I had a terrible experience here. I worked with Nerissa and she was completely incompetent as a tax advisor. She did not seem to understand the difference between a distribution and a rollover. She had to look up how to enter forms in the return, and when she was unable to find answers, I had to look them up (and I was able to find answers relatively easily). I wanted to look over the return at home before approving it, and I found a reduction of over $1200 to my tax liability. When I asked her about it, she asked me to provide, and wanted to charge me more to enter, forms that did not exist.

I called them multiple times related to an issue with their app as was trying to e sign tax returns. Each time I got a confirmation that I would receive a call back from the tax consultant who handled our case but never received a call. Highly unprofessional service despite I already paid them full in advance and now have to chase them to get my taxes filed as end date is quite near.

I do not recommend this Block Advisors office. I had to pick up my tax documents and go to a competitor after being a Block customer for 10+ years at other locations. Tax preparer would not respond to emails containing amended tax documents and general questions. It became clear they had lost track of me and didn’t even know who I was (system still had me assigned to prior year preparer at another location). Return had not been touched since my drop off appointment 5 weeks before and they had trouble even locating my physical documents to return them to me. Most concerning was that there really was no concern shown to fix a problem and try to save a long time customer. I dropped off my documents at a local competitor the next day and my return was completed within a week with great customer service. For what its worth, I have never posted a product or service review in my life, but this experience was so bad, that I felt it would be irresponsible not to share.

Asked a few very pertinent questions and referred to last years’ tax return. She was professional, caring and highly approachable. Honest and sincere in all aspects of her job.

Though we have retired and own everything (no loans, just living expenses), we now live 2.5 hours (5+ hour round trip) from Tina’s office. We expect that our tax process will be handled by HR Block online. Reason, no more complicated tax return expected; just a simple pension/Social Security income with minimum required withdrawal from investments. BUT: Just in case, Tina will be there if we stumble.
