Pro Bono Network was instrumental in allowing me to take time out from the full time practice of law to raise my kids. I helped low income clients with their legal needs, expanded my professional skill set, made life-long friends who knew what I was going through, built the foundation to return to work, all while staying present for my kids. What a fabulous organization!

Fantastic place for attorneys to get personal guidance and training so they can efficiently volunteer and not waste time travelling. The negative reviews are a misunderstanding that this organization is for clients – it is not – it is a triage service, getting attorneys to the right legal aid agency. Unfortunately, those looking for legal help really get the runaround and their frustration is completely understandable.

I’m a longtime volunteer and donor to this organization. They are making such a difference in the lives of low income people in Chicagoland who need legal help, such as women who need orders of protection from abusive partners, renters who are being victimized by unscrupulous landlords, senior citizens who need to get their affairs in order. All the attorneys are experienced and well qualified. I am so glad this organization exists!

This organization is run by a talented, inspiring and committed group of women who care about bringing justice to those who can’t afford it on their own. Their dedication seeps into everything and everyone they influence. I am delighted to recommend it to attorneys, volunteers and prospective clients.

Pro Bono Network has created an innovative and efficient model for attorneys to provide their talent to pro bono services. When I decided to take a career break to spend time with my growing family, PBN provided opportunities, resources and networks so that I could use my legal skills to help those who could not afford legal services. Through PBN I was able to help low-income individuals with immigration, landlord-tenant and family law issues. The people who I have met through PBN are passionate, talented and empathetic. As a result, PBN has done and continues to do amazing work for the community. I am proud to be a part of it!

Pro Bono Network takes cases that have been looked at for income level and legal need by other legal aid agencies. Then, clients are referred from an agency to Pro Bono Network. Thanks for trying to reach us directly but for a number of reasons our cases are provided indirectly.

The representative on the phone was extremely impatient and rude with me. I barely got a complete sentence finished before she interrupted me with obvious irritated responses. People are calling there in distress and to have a rude rep answering the phone is not a good look. If providing free or discounted services deem it ok to treat is like nothing, then it shouldn’t be offered.

Ridiculous! What kind of message is that? “We can’t help your if your looking for an attorney but call CRPLS so don’t leave a message. If you’re anyone else leave a message.”
